The Big Girl's Life Lesson #953:
Older people (i.e. with at least a 15-year age gap) strongly believe that the world they lived in when they were our age was exactly the same as the world we live in now. So what if in this world now, things are getting more expensive, people are getting smarter, richer and more competitive, rules are more bendable, cars almost resemble spaceships, Hongkong is now part of China (and Singapore looks like its set to be part of China or India!) and Elton got legally married to David? The world is exactly the same, you know, and walking to your faraway school in the hot scorching sun with a heavy bag filled with thick books spurred by an unwavering determination to learn still the best way to learn about life, the way they (i.e. the older folks) did when they were growing up.

The Big Girl's Life Lesson #954:
No matter what you say or do (including, but not limited to, proving your stellar worth in dazzling style or acquiring education beyond anyone's expectations), older people will always think you're stupider because you're younger so you should just shut up and drink your Starbucks coffee from your TollyJoy bottle. Little adults should be seen, not heard!

The Big Girl's Life Lesson #955:
Blood is not really thicker than water. Not when money, pride or reputation is at stake. No, don't even dispute that! You're too young! Shut up! Listen to me! I'm smart, you're not!
