Yesterday, we had a refresher crash course on The Art Of Lepak.

Lesson One: The Fundamentals of Outdoor Lepak

Venue: Al-Fresco Dining @Spize (River Valley)

Guest lecturer: Mr Izrina

Areas covered: Selecting optimal table sizes and locations, prime lepak food selections, remembering which drink one ordered, determining how many people are meant for one lepak drink/dish, scanning location ceilings for renegade cicaks aiming to fall into open mouths and general outdoor lepak etiquette.

                  

Lesson Two: How To Lepak At A Friend's Cosy Home Till 11pm On A Weekday

Venue: The living room in the lovely home of Mr & Mrs Izrina @Redhill

Guest lecturer: Mr Raihan

Areas covered: Getting to friends' home without getting lost, operating cheem elevator of friends' flat to get to desired third floor and not seventh floor, sofa selection in friends' living room to crash on, cups of hot ginger tea to finish in one session, cat-grooming tips to pick up from friends and general indoor lepak etiquette in someone else's home.

Lesson Three: How To Rilek One Corner: The Secrets To Lepak-ing In Own Home

Venue: Various corners of Mr & Mrs Izrina's lovely home@Redhill.

Guest lecturer: Max The Resident Cat

Areas covered: Best corners, best spots, best sitting positions, strategic locations in air-con rooms, tips on slipping into air-con room unnoticed, fighting for and exercising one's right to stay inside air-con room, looking incredibly adorable while in one corner/on one spot and general corner/spot etiquette.

Attendees: Mr and Mrs Izrina, Mr and Mrs Raihan and Max The Resident Cat. Phatt Bastard The Cat was unable to attend due to unforeseen transportation challenges.

Objective: To reiterate lepak effectiveness on the now-adults of our nearly-30 generation to relieve stress, reunite, catch up on lost times and laugh madly like no one's watching. And to act like the kids we once were, once again.

Conclusion: Objective met?

Successfully, obviously.

Next session? Home of Mr and Mrs Raihan@Simei Street One. Hopefully with more guest lecturers and attendees this time round. InsyaAllah. We really should do this more often...heck, we all used to see each other almost everyday! Let's try harder now, okay, girls? Not everyday, of course -not with our jobs, schedules, kids, cats, husbands, boyfriends and everything else happening at the same time now- but more often than what we're giving to each other.

If not before than during The Wedding of the Future Mr and Mrs Mardee come 31st May 2008! Yet another Crescentian bites the kahwin dust, yes yes!
