Today, the 4th of October, is the beginning of a beautiful time.
It will be the first day of Ramadhan for those here in Dubai and the first Ramadhan for us both as husband and wife.
For sahour this morning, I had my regular morning bowl of Weetabix and skimmed milk, served with seven almonds (for healthy skin and hair) and Hershey's Chocolate Syrup (for that little girl in me) and Azim had his homemade cheeseburger special (which is a grilled meat patty wrappedi n fried egg and smothered in melted cheese!)
For iftar a few hours hour ago, we shared a foot-long meatball sub, three Bavarian doughnuts, a pot of herbal tea and a kiss.
He called in sick for his flight tomorrow morning so that we can spend our second and third day of Ramadhan together before I leave for my next flight and he gets called up for another.
I look forward to more sahours, iftars, tarawihs and such with him by my side. I look forward to my husband providing me with the religious guidance I need as his wife. I look forward to our taking turns to prepare the dishes for the start and break of fast. I look forward to it all with quiet anticipation in my heart and sated elation in my smiles.
To everyone who is anyone in this faded world we share as brothers and sisters of Islam, I hope this Ramadhan will bring us closer to Him and to those we love, bring us understanding of those we don't and bring us peace within ourselves.
As they would say here in Dubai....

Isn't it nice to break our fast with the "hubby"? It was sweet of Azim(like he always has..to u) to take illegitimate MC so that he can break his first few fast with you. Awww....Must tell Shahid what Azim did for his wifey. TOo bad SQ is not as lenient as Emirates. Nevertheless, i can break my fast together with him on the 2nd day,though. Heheheh..
